Daycare Zurich Affoltern

Premises and Location

The Kita Märliwält Affoltern is located on Obsthaldenstrasse in a modern building that was specially designed for us as a daycare center. Since opening in August 2023, we have been caring for children from 3 months old up to kindergarten entry in two mixed-age groups, in a loving and individual manner.

Two Mixed-Age Groups

In the "Füchsli" group, up to 12 children find a place each day, while in the "Bärli" group, up to 15 children are lovingly cared for. Our generously designed premises offer the children plenty of space to play, discover, and relax. A cozy retreat area invites them to look at a book in peace or simply enjoy the moment. The central entrance area with a cloakroom separates the two groups physically, but at the same time promotes a family-like togetherness through shared activities and encounters, which is particularly close to our hearts.

Garden, Playground, and Surroundings

A highlight of our daycare is the beautiful garden with a playground, swing, and sandbox, surrounded by fruit trees and spacious green areas. Here, the children can romp around, play, and discover nature. In addition, the nearby playgrounds and the Käferberg with its idyllic forest invite exciting excursions and adventures. Daily time outdoors is particularly important to us, not only to offer the children space for movement and fresh air, but also to promote their physical development and understanding of nature.

The Kita Märliwält Affoltern is also located in the immediate vicinity of the double kindergarten and after-school care facility Eigengrund, which creates a familiar environment for the children who will later transition there.

Pedagogical Care

For us, every child is at the center – with all their strengths, interests, and needs. In a warm and safe atmosphere, we accompany the children on their development path and create space for playing, learning, and experiencing together. Our lovingly designed premises and a structured, needs-oriented daily routine make the time with us something special.

Like all Märliwält daycare centers, our facility in Affoltern stands for the highest pedagogical quality. An above-average staff-to-child ratio ensures that we can do justice to every child in all situations. Our dedicated team regularly participates in further training and collaborates with the ZHAW as part of the City of Zurich's quality initiative in order to continuously secure and develop the quality of our work.

Private and Subsidized Places

At the Affoltern location, we offer private and subsidized childcare places. Families residing in the City of Zurich can receive contributions towards childcare costs depending on their personal situation. You can find more information on our pricing page.
