Daycare Zurich Oerlikon

Premises and Location

The Kita Märliwält Oerlikon on Friedackerstrasse offers children a loving place to grow and feel comfortable. Our spacious premises of over 300 m², specially designed for the daycare center, create plenty of freedom of movement and opportunities to retreat. Since opening in January 2020, we have been caring for children of different age groups here in two groups.

Baby Group and Group from 2 Years

In the "Zwergli" group, the youngest children from 3 months to 2 years find a protected space that is specially tailored to their needs. With a maximum of 8 children per day, we can offer each child the attention and care they need. For the older children from 2 years up to kindergarten entry, there is the "Igeli" group. This group offers space for up to 16 children and promotes the children's social skills in a large children's group. We regularly mix the groups for joint activities, through which the younger ones learn from the older ones and vice versa – a wonderful opportunity for social learning.

Movement Room and Private Garden

A highlight of our daycare center is the movement room with a slide, play elements, and many materials that promote children's motor development. Here, the children can let off steam, play, and develop their physical abilities in a natural way. The offering is complemented by our own garden with a play tower and slide. Here, the children experience nature first-hand, plant and garden together, and enjoy the apples from our own tree.

Excursions and Surroundings

The surroundings of our daycare center also have a lot to offer: nearby playgrounds and a beautiful forest invite you to go on excursions and create additional opportunities for adventure and discovery.

Quality and Further Education

Like all Märliwält daycare centers, the Oerlikon daycare center also stands for the highest pedagogical quality. An above-average caregiver-to-child ratio ensures that we are there for the children individually and reliably, even in challenging moments. Our dedicated team regularly undergoes further training and works together with the ZHAW as part of the City of Zurich's quality initiative in order to secure and constantly develop the quality of our work sustainably.

Private and Subsidized Places

At the Oerlikon location, we offer private and subsidized childcare places. Families residing in the City of Zurich can receive contributions to the childcare costs depending on their personal situation. Further information can be found on our pricing page.
